Colossians 1:6
6 This same Good News that came to you is going out all over the world. It is bearing fruit everywhere by changing lives, just as it changed your lives from the day you first heard and understood the truth about God’s wonderful grace.
Do You Know Where You Are Going?
I have heard a friend of mine quote the Cheshire Cat from Lewis Carroll’s classic Alice in Wonderland in a conversation with the disoriented Alice when she asked for directions. “If you don’t know where you’re going, any road will take you there.” This oft-cited but not-quite-accurate quote that the Cheshire Cat actually answered her, “That depends a good deal on where you want to get to,” said the Cat. “I don’t much care where–” said Alice. “Then it doesn’t matter which way you go,” said the Cat. “-so long as I get SOMEWHERE,” Alice added as an explanation. “Oh, you’re sure to do that,” said the Cat, “if you only walk long enough.”
GPS
When I think of the Cheshire Cat I can’t help but smile 🙂 because I have had countless people smile at my face when I asked them for directions and they had no idea how to get there but they gave me directions anyway. Purpose is like a GPS for your life. And for Jesus followers our GPS is “God’s Purpose System” and the Holy Spirit is the voice that helps recalculate each misstep until we get back on track towards fulfilling our purpose.
Our Purpose
We believe that the Bible is the inspired Word of God and is the best road map for finding your purpose. And for that reason at Tome, we have adopted Colossians 1:6 as our guiding scripture for 2022. We pray that this scripture will bear much fruit and grow the impact of the Gospel throughout the whole world.
Your Purpose
Likewise, we pray today that you will have a personal experience with the Good News of Jesus Christ and it will change the direction of your life and ultimately change your world.
